Tony Romera explains the Korg MS-20 behind ‘MS69

“Since I wasn’t able to get them in time, I decided to make a super aggressive track with my Korg MS-20.” That is how Tony Romera has described the origin of ‘MS69,’ out now via Monstercat and taken from the label’s Monstercat Uncaged Vol. 11 compilation.

Romera has been on the label since 2019, and ‘MS69’ is not his first release there. It follows ‘VHS,’ which arrived on Monstercat the previous month. The label’s roster also runs to the likes of RIOT, Koven and Just A Gent.

‘MS69’ is the second single from Romera’s forthcoming debut album, ‘Introspection,’ which he is expected to put out on Monstercat before the year ends.

The track pushes further into that grit than Romera’s earlier singles, built around an aggressive synth line and a vocal sample that runs through the mix.

Romera is scheduled to make his EDC Las Vegas debut in October, on the stereoBLOOM stage, playing material from ‘Introspection.’
