Thomas Newson turns toward progressive house on Dysnomia

Thomas Newson is back on Protocol Recordings with a new three-track EP, Dysnomia, out February 24th, and it marks a real turn for him. He built his name on big room records, on labels including Revealed Recordings and Spinnin’ Records, and went on to play mainstages at Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival. Protocol, run by Nicky Romero, has carried him before on singles including ‘Blizzard’ with Magnificence. Dysnomia leaves that sound behind for something deeper: progressive house, worked out over three tracks on the label the Dutch producer has called home since 2018. It lands on 24 February. The opener, ‘Home’, carries breathy vocals from the singer-songwriter Flachbau, brought in specifically to push that track further than the rest of the EP.
