Nicky Romero’s Ultra ID finally has a name

Nicky Romero opened his Ultra Music Festival Miami set this past March, as the festival marked its return, with an unreleased ID that caught festivalgoers’ attention.

That long-awaited identifier finally has a name, and it is an energetic one. ‘Pressure’ pairs hypnotic chords with dramatic snares and layers of progressive synth work that build toward a particularly anthemic drop, engineered for the main stage.

It is not Romero’s first release on Protocol Recordings; ‘Pressure’ follows a prior single, ‘Lose My Mind’, on the same imprint.

It lands at the start of festival season, which is plainly the room the record was made for.

The single arrives in two versions — the original and an extended mix — both worth hearing wherever you stream.

It landed on Protocol Recordings on 29 April.
