Nicky Romero returns to progressive house on ‘Into The Light

Nicky Romero closed out 2020 with ‘Nights With You’, a pop-leaning single and his Universal Music debut. ‘Into The Light’, out 15 January on Protocol Recordings, returns him to the progressive house sound behind hits like ‘Toulouse’ and ‘I Could Be The One’. The single teams him with Protocol talent Timmo Hendriks and Arizona singer-songwriter David Shane, whose vocals ride piano chords through a climbing bassline into the track’s drop. Romero spent last summer elsewhere too, debuting an ‘Another World’ livestream concept and a new alter ego, Monocule.

Protocol Recordings has grown since Romero founded it in 2012 into a brand whose weekly radio show reaches more than 40 million listeners. Hendriks, a two-year label regular, has previously teamed with Dash Berlin on ‘Keep Me Close’ and Trilane on ‘Deserve My Time’; the label has also carried releases from Jp Candela, Marc Benjamin and Mosimann.
