Seven Lions releases ‘Only Now’ with Tyler Graves on Ophelia Records

Before it was a record, ‘Only Now’ was a request. Seven Lions — the melodic dubstep producer also known as Jeff Montalvo — called it “the most asked-about song.” He made it with Los Angeles vocalist Tyler Graves. It’s out now on Montalvo’s own label, Ophelia Records. His first solo release since 2018’s ‘Start Again.’ It’s also Ophelia’s first single of the year. The track opens on Montalvo’s arpeggio synths, then widens against Graves’ vocals into a bigger final run — the melodic-bass sound that built the Seven Lions name.

Montalvo closed out 2019 with ‘Known You Before’ alongside Jason Ross, pulled from Ross’s debut album, ‘1000 Faces.’ ‘Only Now’ follows ‘Old Gods’ as his most recent release on any label. He has dates through the year with the likes of Beyond Wonderland, Bonnaroo and Ubbi Dubbi. The track had already surfaced once, at his Ezoo set in New York the year before, well ahead of its official release.
