Kölsch confirms fifth album, I Talk To Water

Sonically, ‘An Amazing’ is a bright, synth-led, uptempo cut, shaped around a single repeated vocal hook. It’s out now — the first sound anyone’s heard from Kölsch’s fifth album, ‘I Talk To Water’, which lands 27th October via Kompakt. It’s a personal, introspective record, centred on family, history and grief. The title track carries a guest credit from Perry Farrell. Three further songs — ‘Grape’, ‘Tell Me’ and ‘It Ends Where It Began’ — carry a different credit: Patrick Reilly, Kölsch’s father, who spent the sixties and seventies as a touring musician. The album folds his actual recordings directly into those three songs. Reilly died in 2003.
The album runs to twelve tracks in total. A supporting tour will carry it across Europe, South America and the United States. Festival stops on the run include the likes of Tomorrowland Brazil, Art of the Wild and Amsterdam ADE.
