Gorgon City and Jem Cooke set 25 June release for ‘Dreams

Gorgon City closed out last year by playing to an empty room. The duo took over Printworks for a New Year’s Eve livestream with nobody in the crowd, and that unlikely set is where a sizable share of their fans first heard ‘Dreams.’ The track, on which they teamed up with vocalist Jem Cooke, arrives properly on 25 June via Positiva, pulled from the duo’s forthcoming album, ‘Olympia.’

The record extends a rollout that’s been running most of the year: singles from ‘Olympia’ have surfaced steadily, ahead of the full release. Gorgon City have paired that with a tour under the same name, a two-month run across the US that wraps with four dates back home in the UK.

It was, by most reckonings, the most wanted of the tracks still waiting to surface from ‘Olympia’ — built on Gorgon City’s usual house instincts, wrapped tightly around Cooke’s vocal.

Listeners who want more of her voice on the record won’t have to wait long: Cooke also turns up later in the set, on ‘Ecstasy.’
