Four Tet reveals Sixteen Oceans

Four Tet doesn’t always release music as Four Tet. Last year the elusive producer slipped out two tracks under a separate alias, rendered entirely in symbols instead of letters, while he quietly built toward Sixteen Oceans.

Sixteen Oceans arrived in pieces before it had a name. ‘Baby,’ featuring vocalist Ellie Goulding, followed two earlier singles, ‘4T Recordings’ and ‘Teenage Birdsong,’ and came with a music video built from drone shots over open landscape. All three sit among the album’s sixteen tracks, and he’s touring throughout the year too, with tickets already on sale. Four Tet put them out through Text Records, where this isn’t his first release — it follows Anna Painting.
