Porter Robinson shares ‘Something Comforting’ from ‘Nurture

Porter Robinson has released ‘Something Comforting’ via Mom+Pop, a track from his second album ‘Nurture’, closing in on six years since his 2014 debut ‘Worlds’.

‘I went through a pretty intense creative struggle and depression in the years 2015 and 2016,’ Robinson said. Prominent synths and rhythmic stutters carry the track, set under vocals he recorded himself, sung straight in places and pitched up in others. It was during that same period that he wrote the track’s central hook, a one-minute instrumental motif that anchors the arrangement.

First single of the year: ‘Get Your Wish,’ released in January and his first new material since 2016. The track drew a rush of excitement online, from fans and fellow producers alike. Last month, ‘Shelter,’ his collaboration with Madeon from four years earlier, was certified gold by the RIAA. The track is out now via Mom+Pop.
