Cosmic Gate shift toward progressive house with ‘Blame

Cosmic Gate’s ‘Blame’ is out now via Wake Your Mind Records, credited alongside Diana Miro, who supplies the track’s vocals and lyrics.

The track steps back from the driving trance sound the German duo made their reputation on, settling into something deeper and more progressive. Miro’s vocal carries the track where an instrumental lead might once have sat. Familiar elements remain underneath it: dense synth layers and a heavy low end tie ‘Blame’ back to the pair’s earlier catalogue even as its overall tone shifts.

‘Blame’ arrives with an extended mix alongside the original, the first single from an album expected this summer — Cosmic Gate’s eleventh, and their first since 2017’s Materia Chapter One.

It premiered during Cosmic Gate’s Miami Open Skies livestream, their first single of the year and their first activity with fans since a 20th-anniversary tour, ‘Forward Ever, Backward Never.’ The duo formed in 1999.
