Above & Beyond return with Flying By Candlelight

Above & Beyond have released ‘Flying By Candlelight,’ their second single to feature Marty Longstaff. McGuinness and Longstaff first connected in 2015 at a writers’ retreat. Vocals for ‘Flying By Candlelight’ followed not long after that meeting — before Above & Beyond turned a separate song, ‘Tightrope,’ into the 2017 single from Common Ground that introduced Longstaff to fans first.

‘Flying By Candlelight’ first appeared live at ABGT 300 in Hong Kong last year. It now arrives as the first single from Above & Beyond’s forthcoming EP, Common Ground Companion, due March 29. The trio have released on Anjunabeats since 2002; this single follows Sun & Moon overall, plus 10 Years Of Anjunabeats on the label specifically.

Above & Beyond describe the song, in a joint statement, as built around a rescue — a saviour pulling its central character out of a dark, lonely place, into an open night sky.
