Above & Beyond go ambient on ‘Flow State

‘Flow State’ is Above & Beyond in ambient territory, and the album arrives today on Anjunabeats, the label they founded. Warm soundscapes throughout. The trio have said that their music has always been about understanding your own emotions and accepting them. There’s a sampler on Spotify, and that is probably where to start if you are not going to sit down with a complete ambient album today.

Very few acts in dance music have looked as unstoppable as Above & Beyond in recent years. The last weekend of the month has them back at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington State for the Group Therapy Weekender (the 27th and the 28th). Their debut came in September 2017, when they played the 250th episode of Group Therapy at the venue. Saturday is the headlining set. Sunday morning brings an opening yoga performance, the format their Robot Heart set made famous.
