WhoMadeWho’s ‘Children’ is the first release on their own imprint The Moment

WhoMadeWho — Children artwork

Vesterbros Ungdomsgård, a Danish children’s choir, sings across ‘Children’, the new WhoMadeWho single out today on The Moment. The Moment is the band’s own imprint, newly founded, and this is the first record to arrive on it. Tomas Høffding, Tomas Barfo and Jeppe Kjellberg have been releasing as WhoMadeWho since 2004, and they have written this one as an anthem for their listeners, with the thank you in it put fairly plainly. The single reaches back to early ‘80s new wave grooves and the psychedelic end of early ‘90s acid, and it is built from coarse bass, drum machines, synth pads and the choir.

‘Children’ follows ‘Miracle’, which WhoMadeWho made with Adriatique and released in early September. RÜFÜS DU SOL remixed that one afterwards, and the remix is the last thing the band put out before this single. The release lands with the group already on a new live tour — a global run has since been announced on top of that. New York, Los Angeles, Madrid, Berlin and London are on the itinerary, with more to come. Listen below.
