Volaris launches HORIZN with debut single ‘Close To You

Volaris has released ‘Close To You,’ the first single on HORIZN, his new joint venture with The Circuit Group. A first for him. It follows ‘Slow Motion,’ his most recent release on any label. Nathan Cozzetto, the producer behind Volaris, framed the label as a way to repay the people who got him through cancer treatment. Only in his second year as an act, he’d already played Printworks, Brooklyn Mirage, Movement and Electric Zoo, and Dancing Astronaut named him one of its Artists To Watch for 2023. “It was really important for me to use this label as a vehicle to give back to those that have helped me and many others through the darkest times,” Volaris said. The label’s mission, in his own words, is to “push boundaries and redefine the melodic house and techno experience.”

The track opens on a booming vocal, driven by rhythm and synths. In February, a livestream at Defected Records’ London space raises money for Addenbrooke’s Hospital, the institution that treated Volaris during his illness. HORIZN is backed by The Circuit Group, whose roster includes Chris Lake and deadmau5. Dean Wilson, chief executive of The Circuit Group, is the partner behind the label.
