Tiësto and Tate McRae release 10:35 ahead of Drive

Tiësto & Tate McRae — 10:35 artwork

Tiësto’s residency at Hakkasan and the crossover singles that followed set a template much of dance music has worked from since. He gave part of one of his three sets at the return of Tomorrowland over to the trance records that opened his career. Fans hoping he would go back to that era read the set as a signal. In July he began describing the album to come, and the description was a complete change of direction weighted heavily toward house music. 10:35 is the newest release drawn from it, a collaboration with Tate McRae that is out now via Atlantic Records.

The album is Drive, and the title arrived with the single itself. It follows The London Sessions, which Tiësto released in 2020, and the album already carries Don’t Be Shy, The Motto, The Business and Hot In It, which he made with Charli XCX. Streams across those singles have passed 3.5 billion.

The single was made in celebration of Atlantis The Royal. The newest of Dubai’s ultra-luxury resorts was assembled by designers and architects drawn from across the world. Tate McRae announced her own part in the partnership. “Tate and I wanted to create a song that captured the energy of an experience at Atlantis The Royal, and I’m proud to say the feeling of 10:35 and this property are both infectious!” Tiësto said.

The record itself sits between pop and house across a single track.
