The Glitch Mob close a four-year gap with ‘See Without Eyes

The Glitch Mob have closed a four-year gap since their last album, releasing ‘See Without Eyes’ on 4 May via Glass Air, the label the trio has run since 2010. Boreta — producer Justin Boreta — said the record “has elements of our first two albums, but explores new territory.”

That last album, Love Death Immortality, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Independent Albums Chart in 2014, and the group is marking its return with a 38-stop global tour built around a redesigned stage design, The Blade 2.0.

The tour opens at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom on 14 May, then runs largely through the US and Canada before a single stop in Europe, at Romania’s Untold Festival, in August.

The record pairs the group’s familiar synthesizers and saturated bass with a run of ambient, downtempo material, refining the writing and production behind the first two albums. Built on a single melancholy melody, ‘Interbeing’ pushes furthest into that softer register — the most pronounced departure on ‘See Without Eyes’.
