The Chainsmokers release ‘Push My Luck’ from the road

The Chainsmokers put out ‘Push My Luck’ today on Disruptor Records/Columbia, and they are doing it from the road. The North American tour they are running is called World War Joy, after an album that has not arrived yet. Their third.

Europe comes next, and it has been quite a while. Nine cities next October, large venues, one of them at Amsterdam Dance Event — and more dates went up on top of that in the last few days. It is their first proper run around the continent since 2018, and the stretch in between has been festival bookings. Worth checking whether your city made the nine.

Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall have had a huge few months of it, and so has Matt McGuire, the drummer who tours with them. The MTV VMA for Best Dance is part of that stretch.

‘Push My Luck’ leans on Taggart’s vocal, with light instrumentation carrying most of the rest of it. The duo trailed the track on their own social pages before today, leading with the same vocal, which is stellar in the way his usually are.
