SOFI TUKKER release sophomore album WET TENNIS

“Freak,” one of the twelve tracks on SOFI TUKKER’s new album WET TENNIS, is upbeat and infectious in the way the duo — Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern — built their name on, and it arrives as part of a record three years in the making, the follow-up to their Grammy-nominated 2018 debut, Treehouse. WET TENNIS is out now via SOFI TUKKER LLC, the label the pair have run since 2017.

The album pulls in guests across its twelve tracks, with the likes of Mahmut Orhan, John Summit, Amadou & Mariam and Boii each taking a credit, and much of it was written and performed while SOFI TUKKER kept a run of daily live streams going for fans during the pandemic. The title doubles as an acronym; Halpern has said it stands for “when everyone tries to evolve, nothing negative is safe.”

“Sun Came Up,” the duo’s 2021 collaboration with John Summit and one of the album’s twelve cuts, gave them a third No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Airplay chart.
