Madeon’s shelved Good Faith cut ‘Love You Back’ finally arrives

Bubbly vocals carry ‘Love You Back,’ a Madeon song that pulls together different eras of his sound. He first wrote it as a possible single for his Grammy-nominated album Good Faith, though the song never came together for him at the time.

Madeon released the track on 27 April via Mom+Pop, marking his first release through the label. It arrives just days after he wrapped his run at Coachella, following ‘Shelter,’ his previous release.

It’s not entirely new to his sets. Madeon has played different versions of the song live for years, including on tour before the pandemic put it on hold, and it later found a place within his updated Good Faith Forever.

Mom+Pop also counts his longtime friend Porter Robinson among its artists, alongside FKJ, Tom Morello and Orion Sun. Madeon’s team has launched a dedicated microsite for the single.

Madeon wrote the song, he said, “about being on the other side of unrequited love — being with somebody who loves you more than you ever could.”
