San Holo teams up with Broods on Honest

San Holo spent a full three years on ‘Honest’. The single arrived today through his own bitbird and Astralwerks, and Broods take the vocal. He previewed it with a few seconds of audio, in which a single line comes round repeatedly, treated differently on each pass.

Warm and confessional, trading in the surging melodies and emotive bass that he has all but perfected by now. It is the first thing he has put out in 2020, and the official video is on his YouTube channel if you want it.

‘Honest’ follows ‘Lost Lately’, which he released at the end of 2019 alongside an alternative version of itself. There hasn’t been another album since ‘album1’ in 2018, though the gap has been filled with standalone singles. He has headlined Red Rocks and played the festival main stages at EDC and Tomorrowland. In March he takes his live band out for the first time, one show only, at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on the 21st.

Broods are siblings, Georgia and Caleb Nott, out of New Zealand, and they have been recording since their 2013 debut and touring with Ellie Goulding, Haim, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift. Caleb produces. Georgia is the one you hear on ‘Honest’.
