Porter Robinson’s ‘Nurture’ arrives Friday, seven years after ‘Worlds

Porter Robinson has spent the past week teasing this year’s Secret Sky lineup by playing pieces of each artist’s music on piano, footage that circulated online before the full bill landed on April 15th. Nurture, his second album, arrives via Mom+Pop this Friday, April 23rd, seven years after his 2014 debut, Worlds, and fans have made clear they are hoping the wait was worth it. Robinson joined Mom+Pop in January 2020, following Shelter, his most recent release on any label at the time, and Nurture follows ‘Unfold,’ his most recent outing for the new label. An earlier single, ‘Language,’ put him on the charts long before Worlds existed, reaching number one on the UK Indie chart and drawing more than 27 million streams on Spotify since.
Secret Sky returns the day after Nurture lands, an all-day virtual festival streaming free on YouTube, Twitch, Oculus VR and PlayStation with the likes of Baauer, Boys Noize, Imanu b2b Buunshin, REZZ and Wave Racer on the bill. Goldenvoice and Brownies & Lemonade are behind it again, and this year’s stream is aiming to top the more than $100,000 the 2020 edition raised for MusiCares. You can tune in on April 24th.
