Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran release ‘Repeat It’ on STMPD RCRDS

‘Repeat It,’ by Martin Garrix and Ed Sheeran, is out now on STMPD RCRDS, the label Garrix built after leaving Spinnin’ Records. It started with a voice note: Sheeran sent over a melody, and Garrix built the track around it. Sheeran’s guitar and orchestral touches run through Garrix’s dance production throughout.

‘Repeat It’ is not new. The song dates to 2014, and Garrix previewed it at Ultra Music Festival Miami the following year, where it circulated among fans under the working title ‘Rewind Repeat It.’ The earliest public trace goes back to Miami Music Week, when Garrix first spoke about working with Sheeran. It stayed unreleased for more than a decade, caught between its festival-circuit reputation and the label clearances the version made in the Spinnin’ Records era still needed before Garrix went independent.

The title was also shortened for release, from ‘Rewind, Repeat It’ to ‘Repeat It.’ Garrix confirmed the release himself, timing it for midnight worldwide on Friday, 15 May.
