Kaskade and Crankdat finally make ‘A Little Bit’ official

ARKADE has a new single out. Kaskade and Crankdat’s ‘A Little Bit’ landed Friday, 10 July. Their first collaboration. Third single from Kaskade’s forthcoming album, ORIGIN //. Ryan Raddon meets Christian Smith — a GRAMMY-nominated veteran and a bass producer out of Ohio, on the same track.

The track pairs Kaskade’s melodic, emotionally driven production with Crankdat’s heavier bass design, closing a gap between house and dubstep neither artist usually works in alone. It debuted live in April, when Kaskade brought Crankdat onstage at Coachella’s Sahara tent — his first solo Coachella set in over a decade. ‘My entire career has been about pulling influence from the ether, what’s happening around me and in the world,’ Kaskade said. The pairing runs deeper than one festival cameo: Crankdat has pointed to Kaskade as the artist who first pulled him into electronic music, long before either had a name in it. For Crankdat, the release now caps a run that has already included headline shows at the Tacoma Dome, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Ultra Music Festival.
