Hardwell and Maddix rework 4 Strings’ ‘Take Me Away’ for 2023

Hardwell and Maddix pull 4 Strings’ 2000s trance anthem ‘Take Me Away’ two decades ahead of its time. ‘Take Me Away Again’ lands 27 January on Spinnin’ Records.

The original was a Dance Dance Revolution staple in the early 2000s. It has racked up more than 27 million Spotify streams since.

It’s Hardwell’s second release of 2023, after Rebels Never Die closed 2022 as Dancing Astronaut’s Album of the Year with a deluxe expansion. Maddix, on his fifth collaboration with Hardwell, first previewed the rework live at Romania’s Untold Festival back in August.

“This is a song that truly gets the crowd going in the breakdown, I’ve had a few shows where everyone sung along. Seeing and experiencing that always gives me goosebumps,” Maddix said.
