Don Diablo opens 2022 on Hexagon with Face To Face

Hexagon has a new Don Diablo single, ‘Face To Face’, featuring WATTS, and it is out now via the label he owns himself. Diablo has been releasing through the imprint since 2016.

This is his first single of the year, and he has stepped away from the club for it. Crossing between genres is something he does readily, and the sound that is recognisably his tends to survive the move. The result here is vocal chill house, uplifting and pitched at the softer, more melodic end of what he makes.

An official video arrives with the single, and it follows Diablo through Amsterdam, the city in the Netherlands he is from.

2021 was undoubtedly among the biggest years of his career. What he did with it ran past music and into art and design, and across that year the output was phenomenal. He entered the NFT space last March, and he has been producing hybrid digital and physical pieces ever since.

Diablo has been direct about what he wanted the record to do. He has said he wanted to open 2022 with something soulful, aimed squarely at the winter.
