Carl Cox previews his first album in a decade with a new EP

Carl Cox is about to release his first album in over a decade. Ahead of ‘Electronic Generations,’ due on BMG on 28 October, the techno and house veteran has given fans an early listen with the four-track EP ‘Welcome to My World,’ out 7 October. One fresh cut sits alongside a trio of reworked tracks, the whole EP built as a preview of the album’s own sound.

The EP opens with ‘World Gone Mad,’ built around a declarative vocal sample before giving way to frenzied acid bass. It also carries a rework of ‘See the Sun Rising,’ threading in the same melodic synth line that ran through the original’s version with fellow producer Franky Wah.

Cox has recorded for BMG since 2021, when ‘See the Sun Rising’ became his first release for the label.
