Carl Cox releases first album since 2012, ‘Electronic Generations

Carl Cox has released ‘Electronic Generations’, his first full-length album since ‘All Roads Lead to the Dance Floor’ in 2012, out now on BMG Rights Management (UK) Ltd. The record runs across two discs: seventeen original productions from Cox himself, a reprise of the title track, and six remixes of ‘Speed Trials On Acid’, his collaboration with Fatboy Slim and Dan Diamond.
Cox first previewed the album through that same single earlier in the year, then pushed the release back to make sure the record was ready. Fans at his headline show at Wembley Arena in October got to hear it played start to finish ahead of release. He has compared the record’s candour to that of his memoir, ‘Oh Yes, Oh Yes’.
Cox has said comfort was never really an option for him, despite decades near the top of the scene. “It’s where I should be, where I need to be right now for me to be fulfilled in my position of who I am as a DJ and an artist,” he said.
