Ben Böhmer’s third album Bloom is out on Ninja Tune

Bloom moves through hardship toward something like resolve — eleven tracks built on atmospheric melodies and layered synth work, threaded through with pointedly emotional songwriting. It opens on the solo cut Martin before the features arrive: Lykke Li joins Böhmer on Hiding, Malou takes the vocal on Beautiful. The rest of the tracklist carries Jonah, Erin LeCount, Enfant Sauvage, Max Milner and Oh Wonder. The widely anticipated album is Böhmer’s third studio full-length, dated 27 September 2024. It’s out via Ninja Tune, where he’s been since 2023 alongside Jayda G, Julianna Barwick and Bronson.

Böhmer has been releasing music since 2014, and his profile now reaches well past studio records: more than 200 shows in 2022, a Cercle set — the live-stream series known for staging electronic sets in unlikely locations — filmed from a hot air balloon over Cappadocia, Turkey, that has since drawn more than 34 million views, and, in 2023, his most extensive North American tour yet.
