Armin van Buuren marks 25 years of A State of Trance with ‘Always You

A State of Trance has run as a weekly radio show since Armin van Buuren launched it in June 2001, hosted alongside co-producer Ruben de Ronde. Twenty-five years on, van Buuren has co-produced an anthem for the anniversary, ‘Always You,’ billed under A State of Trance 2026: ELEVATION.

Van Buuren marked the milestone in person too, with a two-night takeover of Rotterdam’s Ahoy arena on 27 and 28 February, opening with a five-hour set and running through surprise collaborations across both nights.

What began as a two-hour Dutch radio broadcast has grown into a global brand spanning festivals, compilation albums and its own record label. Further anniversary events are scheduled in Vietnam, Hong Kong and Poland later this year.

“Thank you for 25 years of ASOT, and counting,” van Buuren said.
