Armin van Buuren announces Burn It Up

Armin van Buuren and DIØN have released ‘Burn It Up’, out 14 August through Armada Music. The pairing sets van Buuren’s trance melodicism against DIØN’s hard dance muscle, since the two artists built the track around pounding percussion and taut synth lines meant for high-energy, peak-time floors, and it arrives on the label van Buuren co-founded.

Scruffizer takes the vocal, and although van Buuren’s trance foundations keep the melody legible, it is DIØN — a hard dance producer working from techno’s harsher, more extreme corners — who supplies the low end aimed squarely at the mainstage crowd. Trance carries the record’s backbone, but its weight, unmistakably, belongs to DIØN.

The pairing comes after a run that has put van Buuren among the most influential figures in dance music, a five-time DJ Mag Top 100 winner and also a Grammy nominee across two decades near the top of the genre.

Van Buuren teased the track at Awakenings. DIØN had already joined him onstage at Amsterdam Music Festival, back in 2025, sharing the bill.
