Armin van Buuren’s ‘A State Of Trance Year Mix 2020’ is out now

Armin van Buuren’s seventeenth annual A State Of Trance Year Mix landed on Armada Music Albums on 10 December, pulling together more than 100 tracks from across the trance and progressive scene, among them Above & Beyond, Aly & Fila, Cosmic Gate, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery and Paul van Dyk.

The compilation strings those tracks and others together into one continuous two-hour mix, not a set of new Armin van Buuren productions. Van Buuren mixed it himself, leaning toward the uplifting, melodic side of trance throughout. He has called 2020 a hard year for almost everyone, and said he hoped the mix would give listeners something to look forward to after months that kept much of the world apart.

The pandemic also forced van Buuren to shelve his planned ASOT1000 tour this year. He has described 2020 as an unusual kind of personal reset, one that caught him off guard. It’s out now via Armada Music Albums.
