Alesso and Sentinel release Freedom on Body Hi

Alesso and Sentinel open ‘Freedom’ with a snarling synth line and a driving bassline pushing toward one repeated hook about wanting out. The pairing puts Alesso alongside Sentinel, the Australian DJ trio, and releases via Body Hi. The tune carries a broad, universal pull, blending a familiar sense of nostalgia with a sound built freshly for the moment. Its aggressive charge echoes ‘Dark,’ an earlier cut from his catalogue, with Sentinel folding in a sharper, more focused edge of their own.

The track had already built a life on stage before it ever reached streaming, worked into Alesso’s sets across the year. By the time the studio version landed, that stage momentum was already carrying it forward. He carried it through Ultra Music Festival in Miami, EDC Las Vegas and, most recently, the World DJ Festival in Japan.

Alesso described the pull it already had on a crowd directly: “’Freedom’ has been such a powerful record to play out over the last couple of months, it goes off every time.” Sentinel’s own reputation for a precise, energetic style shows in the finished mix, an edge set against Alesso’s more melodic signature.
