Skrillex and Nitepunk turn a longtime live ID into ‘SOMA

‘Smoke’ had been a live ID for years before Skrillex finally gave it an official release. The ISOxo, Cristale and TeeZandos collaboration, titled ‘Smoke,’ appears on ‘SOMA,’ his new album with Nitepunk, out now via OWSLA/Atlantic.

‘Thistle’ follows a similar path. The Randomer, Blawan and MC Dricka cut had reportedly been circulating since 2022 before landing an official release here, alongside CONTRA, the multi-artist event Skrillex launched in Berlin around the same period. ‘Duro,’ meanwhile, continues his run with Young Miko.

The album arrives following a stretch that included the EP ‘<3*,’ ‘Hit Me Where It Hurts X,’ the ‘Kora’ EP, and a run of singles — among the busiest release periods of his career. Track titles like ‘É o Bonde,’ ‘La Noche 2’ and ‘Diwali’ point to a multi-region palette he’s assembled across the last two years.

In total, ‘SOMA’ spans 13 tracks.
