Sian opens Octopus Recordings’ year with ‘Corporate Hive Mind

Sian released the three-track EP ‘Corporate Hive Mind’ on Octopus Recordings, the label he founded, on 1 February. The title track opens on a raw, driving techno production, followed by ‘Mercenary,’ built around a punchy beat driven by hi-hats, and closing with ‘Spawn.’ Octopus Recordings’ official Twitch channel debuts the next day, part of a new partnership bringing the label’s sound to the platform.

Before Octopus Recordings, Sian released a run of widely acclaimed material on labels including mau5trap and Manta Recordings, and ‘Corporate Hive Mind’ is his first release on his own imprint since ‘Wasted.’ He closed out 2020 with ‘Octopus Classics,’ a retrospective look back across a decade of the label’s tunes. Sian is a Dublin born, LA-based producer.
