MYRNE releases ‘Forbidden Lovers

Ultra Records released MYRNE’s ‘Forbidden Lovers’ on 24 June 2020, the first single from his upcoming ‘Wandering’ EP. MYRNE has been signed to the label since 2019, and ‘Forbidden Lovers’ follows ‘Fluorescence’, his previous release there.

MYRNE debuted in 2015 with the EP ‘Softskins’ on Mad Decent, the label run by Diplo — the earliest Asian act to land on its roster. Three years later, he became the first Singaporean act to play the likes of Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland.

MYRNE wrote ‘Forbidden Lovers’ while touring the United States, away from his partner in Singapore for long stretches. “’Forbidden Lovers’ is a love song dedicated to lovers currently separated,” he said.

“The writing process started off relatively simple – the song began as a really slow piano instrumental under some vocals until I had the idea to turn it into a somewhat ‘busier’ song,” MYRNE said.
