MAXI MERAKI reworks Monolink’s In My Place

MAXI MERAKI, the Belgian producer, has reworked Monolink’s ‘In My Place’ into a new single, out 19 December on Embassy One.

The original goes back to a spontaneous studio jam. Monolink and producer Toby Siebert cut it largely in one take. A warped riff, a restrained vocal, a raw and analog character running through it — all still there. The track originally appeared on Monolink’s previous release, The Beauty of It All.

MERAKI’s version keeps that vocal but changes the frame around it. Rolling percussion and deeper bass textures push the remix toward the club, and the synth work opens into something wider, giving Monolink’s vocal more room to sit inside.

MERAKI’s own catalogue already runs across labels like Get Physical and Astralwerks, building him chart success and a wider following along the way. Listen below.
