Martin Garrix sings solo for the first time on ‘Catharina

“A glimpse into his early years and the moments that led him to fall in love with music,” is how STMPD, Martin Garrix’s own label, described the childhood footage woven into the video for ‘Catharina,’ out now via STMPD RCRDS and TH3RD BRAIN. The single marks the first time Garrix sings solo on one of his own releases, carried by glimmering synth textures and a hypnotic topline that repeats the title across a progression pitched somewhere between intimate and festival-ready. The record steps off the big-room sound that made his name, settling into something quieter and more melodic, his own voice sitting up front in the mix instead of behind a drop. Garrix had teased the track for weeks with clips of drives and sunrise views on Madeira, the Portuguese island, alongside a vocal snippet of the title repeating that fans had guessed, correctly, was his own voice.

The release follows ‘Follow,’ Garrix’s previous single, and is his first output under the joint STMPD RCRDS and TH3RD BRAIN banner. It arrives shortly after he lent his vocals to a collaboration with Arijit Singh, and ahead of a run that includes Ultra Miami, EDC Las Vegas and Tomorrowland, plus the largest headline tour of his career, opening 1 May in Dallas, and a 2026 residency at Ushuaïa in Ibiza. Garrix has said he “spent over a year overthinking this song.”
