Krewella releases the blueprint on Mixed Kids Records

Krewella went quiet after 2022’s ‘The Body Never Lies,’ stepping back from the studio and the road for nearly two years. That stretch is over now. ‘the blueprint’ is the duo’s fourth single since, out August 7th on Mixed Kids Records, the label they’ve run themselves since 2017. It follows ‘Something Sacred’ and ‘Without You,’ both out earlier in 2026.

Krewella play Lost Lands, the festival Excision runs in Ohio, on September 20, followed by a date at London’s Drumsheds and a run of North American club shows through November.

The lyrics on ‘the blueprint’ turn existential, set against a melody built bright, bassline included. They circle a version of authenticity that doesn’t depend on being seen. Krewella is Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf, sisters who’ve done things their own way in the group for fifteen years.

The vocals still soar. The production turns bass-heavy and hard, letting glitchy fragments carve into euphoric drops ahead of a sudden swing into drum & bass.

‘the blueprint’ nods back to the record that built Krewella’s name: ‘Alive,’ the platinum anthem off their 2013 debut ‘Get Wet.’ A larger project is still to come. Stream it below.
