Peak is out now on Mixed Kids Records

The last song Krewella put out on Mixed Kids Records, the label they launched themselves in 2017, was called ‘the blueprint.’ It closes ‘PEAK,’ the duo’s long-awaited fourth studio album, released September 4, four years after their third, ‘The Body Never Lies.’
Jahan and Yasmine have been releasing music since 2012, a run that includes ‘Alive’ and ‘Live for the Night’ from 2013’s ‘Get Wet.’ They spent the years since 2022 away from touring and releasing, treating that distance as more valuable than the commercial peaks that once defined their career. ‘the blueprint’ first arrived as a single on the label before returning as the closing track of ‘PEAK.’ The album opens with ‘lost in Paraty,’ a cinematic intro that harmonizes angelic vocals over lower synths. From there it moves through pop-facing hooks, heavier bass-driven pulls and melodic techno, with the likes of ‘press play,’ ‘Hear Me Now’ and ‘Crying On The Dancefloor’ tracing that range.
Krewella play a Sunday set at Excision’s Lost Lands festival in Ohio on September 20, then move to London’s Drumsheds before a run of North American club dates carries them through November.
