Grum marks a decade of ‘Heartbeats’ with anniversary reissue

Grum — Heartbeats: Ten artwork

Grum has repackaged his 2010 debut LP ‘Heartbeats’ as ‘Heartbeats: Ten,’ released through Deep State, the label he founded earlier this year. The reissue carries the album’s original sound alongside two new remixes. The original topped iTunes’ Electronic Dance chart on release and won Grum the outlet’s UK Best Electronic Artist of the Year.

Its reputation has held. A decade on, the album still surfaces in conversations alongside landmark records like Daft Punk’s ‘Discovery’ and Mylo’s ‘Destroy Rock & Roll.’

Tinlicker reworks ‘Through the Night’ and Paul Thomas remixes ‘Runaway’ for the anniversary edition. Grum has praised both producers by name, pointing to Tinlicker’s album on Anjuna and Paul Thomas’s work with FSOE UV.

“I recently got some of the rights to that album back, and with 2020 being the ten year anniversary it all fell into place quite nicely for a re-release on my own label,” Grum said.
