Claptone follows Charmer with Fantast

Claptone has two years of touring behind him, and a second album to show for it. ‘Fantast’ arrives 8 June on Different Recordings, the follow-up to his 2015 debut ‘Charmer’.

Lead single ‘In The Night’ arrived first, a house track built on funk grooves with Ben Duffy on vocals. Guest vocals on the album also come from Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke and Katie Stelmanis.

The Masquerade, Claptone’s immersive live show, has drawn big crowds at festivals worldwide over the past year — Tomorrowland included, where he returns in 2018. From there it heads into North America, running through February.

Claptone made the record from behind the same gold mask he always wears — identity still secret, sound anything but. “Over the last two years it has been a great pleasure to work on this album as a counterpoint to the hectic world of travelling as a DJ,” he said of it.
