Anyma releases debut album Genesys

Rebūke turns up on ‘Syren’, pairing unsettling synths with a driving techno pulse. It’s one stop on ‘Genesys’, Anyma’s debut album — a dystopian-toned exploration of humanity’s relationship with technology and machines. This is also his first release under the joint Afterlife/Interscope banner. The record lands now, joined by Grimes, Chris Avantgarde, Sevdaliza and CamelPhat.
The album’s title first appeared on the screens behind Anyma mid-set, running alongside a scroll of track names. Fans spent the weeks that followed guessing which of his unreleased IDs would turn up on the record — ‘Chordial’ and ‘Walking With A Ghost’ had already circulated through his Tale Of Us sets over the past year. The news broke live, during his set at Tomorrowland’s Freedom Stage.
Its rollout stretches back to 2022, when Anyma first staged an audiovisual show under the same name. He opened that era with ‘Angel 1’, a collaboration with Innellea. Dancing Astronaut named Afterlife its Label of the Year in 2022.
