Above & Beyond return with ‘Angry JP8

Above & Beyond had remained quiet since their sold-out Group Therapy 500 celebration at Banc of California Stadium last October, six months spent in studio hibernation. ‘Angry JP8’ broke that silence this week, released in the middle of two sold-out shows marking Printworks London’s closing season. The track opens Tranquility Base Vol. 1, the trio’s first new music on Anjunabeats since ‘10 Years Of Anjunabeats.’

The record doubles as a return to earlier ground. Paavo has spent recent months on a new solo alias, P.O.S, but Tranquility Base finds the trio revisiting a sound from years back, built for the instrumental club sets that predate their main stage records.

Above & Beyond headline The Gorge Amphitheatre July 21 through 23 for the year’s Group Therapy Weekender, with the likes of Anjunabeats, Anjunadeep and Reflections filling out the rest of the bill.
