Afrojack revives dormant Kapuchon alias after eleven years

Kapuchon, the tech house alias Afrojack quietly shelved a decade ago, resurfaced last week with ‘10 Years Later’, released 13 November on Kapuchon Records — a label built specifically to carry it, which makes the single both the alias’s comeback and the imprint’s first release. It is Kapuchon’s first outing in eleven years, first flagged back in February when Afrojack tied the alias’s return to a planned Tomorrowland Winter set.
Afrojack marked the return with a livestream from Rotterdam’s Maasvlakte at 10pm CET the following night, playing a Kapuchon set to launch the label and the single together, and describing the move in his own announcement as a full relaunch of the label and the alias in tandem.
‘10 Years Later’ is a pulsating house and techno cut, and you can hear it now, out via Kapuchon Records.
Before Afrojack’s own name took over, the alias’s last release had come in 2009 — two records made alongside Rotterdam DJ and producer Benny Rodrigues.
