Jan Blomqvist traces darkness to light on MUTE

A pull from dark toward light, built around sitting with your own thoughts in a loud world. That’s ‘MUTE,’ out via Disconnected on 14 February 2025. The tour built around it has already sold out venues across Europe and is booked through North America into March. Burning Man’s 2024 edition marked his sixth appearance there.

The release threads reflective lyricism through dancefloor-ready production, written in Berlin out of time spent on tour. It follows Flora. Disconnected is his own label, run in partnership with Armada Music, and it has carried him since 2024; the last thing he put out through it was Underwater. Headstrong and Seth have released on it too.

Onstage, the tour leans on a reimagined band setup Blomqvist built together with Christian Dammann, a long-time collaborator. “This tour is about connection,” Blomqvist says. Longtime lyric collaborator Maybemahri returns too, writing through the record’s introspective themes once again. Stream it below.
