Detox Unit shares four-track EP Schematic

Nearly three years have gone by since ‘Liminal’. The quiet broke on 21 August.

‘Schematic’ runs four tracks and is out now via Detox Unit. Ahead of it went the lead single, ‘Detonator’.

That single was also the last thing to appear on the imprint, which has carried Detox Unit’s records since 2023. It set the EP up and then held the ground on its own for a stretch. Years went into what sat behind it, and Detox Unit built the thing on a schedule of its own.

The approach is subtractive. Records get cut back to the ideas that carry, and what survives is focused, deliberate, and built for a serious rig. Fellow artists rate Detox Unit about as highly as the crowds do, and few names in experimental bass carry more respect.

The response has been loud. Years of radio silence, then a record fans had more or less stopped expecting. If you want it in a room, the tour dates are where to look — those rooms have been selling out, and this is among the busiest years Detox Unit has had.
